GREEN MIND
A responsible
APPROACH AND COMMITMENT
For nearly 90 years, the lingerie pieces are the result of a precise work around noble materials and a french outstanding know-how.
We are conscientious towards our products, our customers, our surrounding and evolving world, as well as the environment. This is why we are committed to limiting waste and our ecological footprint at every stage of our activity.
We have become aware that we need to take action to preserve our planet. It is now essential to set an example and offer products with the lowest possible impact on the environment, while maintaining the same attention to detail and quality of raw materials.
I discover the products in Swiss embroidery
“Renew cult”: made from 100% recycled and recyclable yarn that is regenerated from fishing nets.
Cotton: Its natural fibre allows the body to breathe and feels soft against the skin. Its absorption power is one of its main qualities.
Modal: made from plant-based fibres (usually beech wood). It is made by spinning cellulose, the stiff part of the plant cell wall.
Silk: a rare and noble textile renowned for its strength, making it a long-lasting material for timeless garments.

Once the materials have been selected, the next step is to find the best possible suppliers. We take into account various criteria, such as the quality of the materials, the price, and also their geographical proximity.
85% of our lace is made in France, and 86% of our materials come from European suppliers. All of our embroidery comes from Switzerland, and the knits used in our products are 100% European (mainly Belgian).
We are also extremely attentive to the environmental impact of our textiles, which is why they are OEKO-TEX certified. This certification attests to the lingerie’s non-harmful and ecological qualities. The raw materials also comply with the Reach regulation, a European law that regulates the use of chemicals. The products that Maison Lejaby uses are thus free of traces of substances that are harmful to women’s bodies and to the environment.
Our
EUROPEAN SUPPLIERS
2. The great majority of our stitches come from Belgium and are of very high quality
3. The Jacquard lace of our Silhouette line comes from Germany
4. All the Swiss embroideries used by the House are of Swiss origin, recognized for their very high quality
Next, the product is designed and drawn, and prototypes are created and tested to ensure that they meet our standards, and yours too! This phase is carried out entirely by the design team in our workshops in Caluire-et-Cuire, near Lyon.
Innovation is at the very forefront of our philosophy, which is why we are able to offer high-quality products created with the expertise of a lingerie designer and maker. Maison Lejaby was the first to use Lycra in its underwear in 1965. Today, we strive to continue our innovation by using environmentally friendly materials. Here are just a few.
RENEW-CULT
The house’s major innovation, the MISTRAL swimwear line, created in summer 2021, is designed using fluid and responsive materials made from recycled fishing nets and other end-of-lifecycle products made of nylon. Our “renew cult” knit is made from 100% recycled and recyclable yarn that is regenerated from fishing nets. This is one way the house is helping to clean our oceans and slow down the creation of new synthetic fibres. The house is proud to offer textiles that are more respectful of the environment and has innovated in its swimwear collection to use a flowing yet substantial fabric made from recycled fishing nets and end-of-lifecycle products made of nylon.
MICRO-MODAL
“Modal” fabric comes from tree fibres, mainly beech wood. These fibres are made by spinning cellulose, and are 50% more absorbent than cotton. It is a textile that is both durable and highly breathable.
It is the ideal alternative to cotton, and the soft and stretchy fabric provides good support for busts of all sizes. Recycling the dye water saves 85% more water.

UPCYCLING
The house’s latest innovation, the Re-make line, is a huge leap forward in terms of commitment to the environment and is an integral part of our GREEN MIND strategy. This line of exclusive designs is made with unused materials from the rest of our production chain, notably the French lace from our CRYSTAL line. These noble, delicate materials are reinvented to be worn, not thrown away.
It’s an eco-friendly line that promotes upcycling, a manufacturing process that has emerged over the past few years as a counterpoint to fast fashion, which can best be summarised in three words: recover, transform, improve.
With our RE-MAKE line, the house is working to reduce the quantity of raw materials that are wasted.

Another key step is the production of our lingerie. The house is very attentive to the working conditions and environment of its seamstresses, which is why we have been a long-standing partner of Ateliers Isa (formerly Atelier Isalys), a historic associate. This workshop located in Sfax, Tunisia, shares the same social and environmental values as Maison Lejaby.
There, 350 to 500 seamstresses assemble the 52 pieces that make up each MAISON LEJABY bra, producing approximately 500,000 pieces each year. The factory complies with social and environmental standards and its internal production system is “GOING GREEN” certified. Notably, the factory has solar panels to power the sewing machines, waste compactors, and the staff are educated about waste and the impact of their actions on the environment.

Our production systems are undergoing improvements, and all processes are not yet perfect, but the head office, the teams and all those involved are constantly striving to improve in order to offer you consumption that is as environmentally friendly as possible.
RECYCLED AND RECYCLABLE
Last but not least, the house’s commitment to the environment is also demonstrated through our choice of packaging materials. We pay special attention to the packaging in order to provide the best protection for the products that are shipped to you, as well as to reduce waste.
All MAISON LEJABY products are shipped in protective boxes that are recycled and recyclable, whether they are made from cardboard or plastic.
Also, we have introduced new recycled and recyclable paper bags in our shops that are free of plastic. The labels on each of our products are FSC certified, meaning they come from sustainably managed forests.
Our employees are the leaders in our ecological transformation. Each employee is asked to recycle, not just cardboard and plastic but also ink cartridges, coffee capsules, light bulbs, etc. They are also encouraged to stop using single-use items, and the Works Council has distributed water bottles to end the use of plastic bottles. We encourage the use of reusable cups instead of disposable ones. Reusable dishes are available in the canteen so that plastic or cardboard dishes are not thrown away at lunchtime.
Additionally, the seamstresses at the Caluire-et-Cuire workshop near Lyon have also used scrap fabric from the Maison Lejaby collections to create cotton bags to reduce the amount of wasted materials and to allow employees to use fewer disposable bags.
All these small gestures for the planet add up!
